Machinations Equilibrium

Sep 07 2013

The final season of Machinations is upon us.

The time has come to restore balance to Western Immoren and put an end to the ceaseless anomalies plaguing the land.  The machinations of the Convergence of Cyriss and those of their hated enemy, the Cephalyx, must  be stopped!

Gather your army and face your at the secret battlegrounds of these enigmatic forces.  The final fight is now.  Purge the land of this madness!

Madness?  This!  Is!  OGWC!!!!

The fourth and final season of Anomaly runs from September 9th to October 7th.  As ever, the OGWC encourages players to partake of their battles at each of the four venues.  As a reminder, our friendly neighbourhood extends to these venues and are:

FdB: Tuesday and Wednesday
Fandom II: Thursday
Kobold’s Corner: Saturday
Wizard’s Tower: Sunday

Remember folks, while these days are reserved for Warmachine and Hordes, it’s still possible to play on other days.  Just make sure to contact the venue to ensure there’s space.  Again with 5 days priority of play it’s within the realm of reason to get maximum points for 5 recorded games played.

Everyone has their favourite venue and by all means keep going but it’s important for us to remember goodwill is a two-way street.  I encourage you to try visiting each of the venues at least once over the four weeks to get games going and represent the club, the game and the hobby.

We should all be familiar with The Cortex by now and will continue to use it to report and track games.  If a player’s warcaster or warlock forges a bond to a ‘jack or beast, it must be witnessed by at least one other player or a member of the Command Crew.  In following games, please make your opponent aware of any bonds before the game begins.

To maintain the level of competition and good fun we all enjoy (or at least I have yet to hear any complaint about), there are house rules which you as potential players need to be aware of that are easy to follow:

1. Those participating in any Journeyman League at any venue are welcome to play in the OGWC’s Machinations League.  Record and report your game results as appropriate to the respective events. These are separate events with separate standings but the goal is to have fun!

2. As in the previous season, there are points to be scored for playing and completing a minimum of one game at each of the 4 venues.  Let me be clear on this:  while each venue is worth 5 points each for the first game you play at it, you only score the 20 points if you play at each venue at least once.

Information on your faction’s season model and rules of play can be found HERE

Organized play can be a blast but you only get out of it what you put in so make use of the OGWC and FdB forum.  Heck use our facebook group if you find it easier to arrange games and exchange notes!  Even if you don’t line up games it’s worth your while to reach out and connect with all the great players in the club to share stories or tricks.

As ever, play is open to everyone in the club so all you have to do is make a member of the OGWC Command Crew aware you want to throw down and you’ll be registered. For those paying a small fee of $5.00 before the end of the 2nd week of play, you will receive a season patch at the end of the event and if you’re the highest ranked paying player you will be awarded the season Champion Medal!  Payment can be made to me in person or through any member of the Command Crew with a quick note fired off to verify payment.

Please note there are 16 confirmed in-hand patches and therefore paid registration is limited to the first 16 people who put money in my hand or have made previous arrangements (like transferring their refund from Season 2 of Machinations to Season 4).  So far, there are paid and 6 confirmed registrants.  Once those 16 registered slots are filled – and some of the slots already are - you can pay the $5 on the hope I can track down more swag.  Unlike the previous league there is no guarantee of a refund. Hey; I value my time.  You do not want to know how many hours I spent trying to hunt down patches and swag for all the players.

If there are any questions about the league, please contact any of the club’s EOs; that's what we're here for!

I wish the best of luck to all participants and hope everyone has a blast.
